Story

Theo was born with a hematoma on the left side of his head resulting in him spending a majority of his time resting and sleeping on his left side, this has now caused him to have plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) on the right side of his head. Unbeknown to us this could have been prevented before 4 months of age with repositioning techniques but our concerns were fobbed off "it'll correct itself". Theo is now 5 months old and too old for this method of treatment to work. A visit to the doctor resulted in us being advised to contact a private clinic for a consultation regarding Theo's head shape as it can affect his muscles and movement as he grows. After visiting a private clinic the outcome is that Theo has 'severe' plagiocephaly and requires a helmet to help shape his head and avoid future muscular problems. The perfect time for the helmet to be fitted is between 4 months and 7 months old .. BUT .. the treatment costs £2025 and isn't available on the NHS. As parents we do everything possible to help our children in any way, shape and form, we understand that money is a struggle for all of us but donations however big or small will have a huge impact on Theo's health and will be gratefully appreciated.
