Story

Hi, Sarah here!

Myself and my Dad will be cycling the length of Britain, more commonly known as Lands End to John O' Groats (LEJOG), next March in order to raise money to help purchase a Trishaw bike from Cycling Without Age for the Andersons Care Home in Elgin. The Trishaw will be for the use of residents and elderly people in the local area of Elgin who may find themselves socially isolated. The Trishaw has been transformative in other communities both in the UK, other European countries and indeed forty countries around the world. Can you imagine an eighty year old who hasn’t cycled since she was a teenager, confined to a care home, uses a wheel chair and suddenly can be transported by a young pilot in to the local area, the parks and perhaps a cafe. To feel the wind in her hair again, to chat to passers by who hitherto were unaware that she existed, behind the doors of the care home. This is the reality and the Trishaw can make this possible. Our LEJOG journey is 1017 miles! Any donations, no matter how small, would be much appreciated in supporting such a worthwhile cause! Please feel free to take time and check out the charity using the link below.
