Story
On Saturday 12th May, I will be walking 45 km in aid of Puck's Promise. Puck was the first-born son of my cousin, Jo and her husband Matt, a longed-for baby who tragically died a few hours after birth, on the 16th March 2017.
Jo and Matt set up Puck's Promise to raise money to purchase woodland for the use of bereaved families and the nurses of Southampton Neo-Natal Unit. It is hoped that Puck's woodland will provide a place for them to relax and remember. A chance to heal through nature.
Recent training walks have not only strengthened my muscles and resolve, but raised my awareness of the ways in which nature provides space for reflection and rejuvenation.

6 years agoWe did it! Rain and pain dominated the walk, but the stunning South Downs scenery, my amazing walking companions and Puck's indomitable spirit helped me through. There were moments around 20 km when I thought I might not be able to make it, but your words of encouragement and fantastic sponsorship spurred me on. Thank you for all your support and I will let you know in due course how your contributions have helped Puck's Wood to grow and heal. With love and thanks, Sarah x

6 years agoWow! Thank you all so much! I am overwhelmed by your generosity and support! Just a quick update: our final training walk was about 30 km and took us along the Greensand Way, from Westerham to Plaxtol and then back to Ightham. It was a beautiful day and the woods were swathed in bluebells. No blisters at the end thankfully, but an painful twinge of sciatica has been worrying me over the past week. I am very grateful for your words of encouragement which, alongside your sponsorship, mean so much to me and this special cause. Hope I can make it!
