Story
Chernobyl April 26th 1986 the massive explosions and graphite inferno lasted for 10 days resulting in very large amounts of radioactive matter being spread. The highest contamination levels were in the 2 countries nearest the nuclear plant, Ukraine and Belarus. The worst consequences of this tragedy are the thousands of thyroid cancers and leukemias in Ukraine and Belarus and the tens of thousands more predicted cancers of all types over the next 50 or 60 years. We bring groups of children from the Ukraine and Belarus for a 4 week stay in the UK. A month breathing fresh air and eating fresh non-contaminated food amd water can add 2 years to the children's life expectancy. The children stay with host families during their time in the UK, these hosts receive no monetary gain for this. We need to raise money to pay for flight tickets and visas to get these children to the UK. Please help us to help them.
