Weʼre raising £10,000 to Help fund public defibrillators in Hartlepool in memory of Danny Shurmer

Don't have time to donate right now?

Story

On 17th June 2021 our lovely family member and friend, Danny Shurmer, went into cardiac arrest very suddenly at home. Even though every attempt was made by his fianceè Jill and paramedics, Danny sadly passed away. This has truely devastated his family and friends and we are heartbroken.

We have all seen recently with the footballer, Christian Eriksen, how much the difference of having access to a defribrillator can make. This happened 5 days before Danny tragically passed away. So in memory of him, we have joined forces with others in Hartlepool and are trying to raise funds to have several public defibrillators put in the area Danny used to live, as currently there aren‘t any. But it would also be great if we could raise enough funds to have more put throughout the town.

We have been asked by several people if they can make a donation online in memory of Danny so decided to set up this page. This would be an amazing tribute to him and he would be truely touched by it. His fianceè Jill, his mum and dad Pam and Bill and all of his family thank you in advance for any kind donation you can make.

This wonderful, life saving machine will soon be one of three placed in the area where Danny lived. More are on order to be placed across the town. Thank you for all your support, you are the reason why lives will be saved.

The response to our cause has been amazing. However, we are aware that there is a need across the town for more defibrillators to be put in place. Due to this, we have set up a group called DS43 Community Defibrillators, with the intention of raising more funds for other areas across Hartlepool. We have got various fundraising activities planned, which will help us towards our aim, and because of this we have increased our target via Just Giving. Public Defibrillators can save lives

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has kindly donated in memory of Danny. We are pleased to let you know, that along with other contributions, we now have enough funds to place the original 3 public defibrillators in the area where Danny lived. .
