Story

In 2012 Rachel went into labour and had a blood clot that caused a massive heart attack. They tried to revive her for 20 minutes and she had a hypoxic brain injury. Rachel was put into an induced coma. When she woke up she could no longer sit up, stand or communicate. She gave birth to a beautiful daughter called Freya. Rachel's family and friends have raised money so she could recieve extra physio sessions. She can now stand unaided and walk with support. This is down to her amazing courage and determination.Rachel has always been full of life and happy and even after all she has been through continues to laugh and smile. She is an inspiration that almost anything is possible. I am going to aim to lose 5.5 in order to raise funds for Rachels in 40 weeks. I went through a temporary life changing injury i broke ankle in 3 places. It gave me a tiny insight on how it feels to be unable to do things you have always taken for granted, simple things like going to toilet , washing and driving. There were times where i just wanted to give up. Rachel had her independence taken away from her but she continues to fight day by day to regain her abilities. Sheer determination and the amazing work she does with physio has got her to the progress we see today. Myself and Emma Jones will not drink alcohol and also diet from 4th September until 4th November to raise money for Rachel. We will donate a £1 for every pound we lose during this time and would appreciate any donations during this time. I have struggled by myself but Rachel's sister Emma is joining me and hopefully together we will be successful.
