Story
This would have been North Tyneside's third Ukulele Festival.
Always held in November, close to Armistice Day, the Festival comprises of three days of ukulele playing, listening and learning. Participants come from all over the UK and Europe to engage in our workshops and Open Mic sessions and to hear the very best ukulele artists perform live.
Opening at the iconic Spanish City for the Friday concert, then moving south along the beautiful northeast coast to picturesque Cullercoats Crescent Club for our Saturday workshops and musical events, we always finish up at the world famous Tynemouth Station Sunday Market to entertain stall holders and their customers. We incorporate an opportunity to support the Remembrance Service at the Whitley Bay Cenotaph during this final day.
Sadly, 2020 is going to be different and we all know why! All is not lost though. We are holding a virtual, online Lockdown Festival instead. Please visit us and enjoy what is on offer this year at North Tyneside Ukulele Festival 2020 northtynesideukulelefestival.org
There are lots of Workshops to join in with; Open Mic sessions to listen to; free songbooks from previous events on our Freebies Page to download; a free-to-download Lockdown 2020 Songbook with play along tutorials and loads of guest appearances from brilliant musicians. Donations for the songbooks can be made here on this fundraising page and will be used to organise next year's 2021 Festival. Hopefully, we can all meet then and play live music together again.
