Story

I am taking part in Jersey's first ever White Collar Surfing event.
Over the next few weeks, a group of 12 ladies and 12 men with no surfing experience will be trained up to ride the waves and take part in the final competition day on the 13th July!

As well as being a personal goal for me, kindly part-sponsored by my employer, Collas Crill, the event will be raising funds for two very worthy local causes, Peas & Glove, and Healing Waves.

Since February 2015, Peas and Glove have been actively raising funds for Olly’s future needs and wellbeing, after the young talented musician, skater and surfer was left in a critical condition following a car accident.

This incredible foundation was initiated by a small group of friends, which has grown from the seed of an acorn into an all mighty oak tree. That has branched out not only to the community of the Channel Islands, but beyond to surfers and musicians alike, inspired by the spirit of Olly and all he entails.

HEALING WAVES enables individuals despite their condition and/or disability both neurological and physical to access the ocean in a safe way to participate in water sport activities. This is so they can experience the therapeutic benefits that the ocean holds for us all.

I hope to see friends, family and colleagues down at the Splash enjoying the spectacle of me trying to get up on a board on training days and cheering the participants on on Competition day, but most of all I thank you in advance for digging deep into those pockets and donating to these local community causes.
