Story

Domestic abuse/violence, be it physical or mental is a very dark, soul destroying place to be. It plays with your mind. Makes you feel worthless, useless, scared, nervous, of no value, a confidence killer and makes you fear for the trust of ANYONE and makes you believe nobody wants or cares about you. Its also in my opinion another silent killer, as so many victims are afraid to speak up. The mental abuse can often feel even worse than the physical (with physical you see whats coming), with mental abuse, it eats into your mind and never leaves you. Whilst you're not being physically abused, your mind is permanently wondering whats coming next, what do the threats mean, what do the body language signs mean, what do i do next, how do I get away (I cant, because I will be hunted down and worse will happen) and if I tell anyone, I dread and fear the consequences being threatened. Been there, done it (no more to be said on that as its history)....But I do believe its important and an under supported issue. It really is a case of "if you haven't been there, don't feel you have the right to judge or be an expert or KNOW what someone is going through". You simply cant.
So cut a long story short, myself and my "team" have decided to do something stupid (I call it stupid as Im not the fittest), that being a 5k Inflatable Obstacle Course, "Gung Ho", on Saturday 13th April at Harewood House, Leeds (google it, and wish us luck)!! As most of you will know, Im no athlete (my friends will say the same) but the challenge will be fun (did I just say that), whilst raising money for what I consider to be a charity which probably often gets missed under the radar with it being such a small local establishment. So please support us. God knows we need your help to get through the 5k....and the Blue Door Charity needs it even more than we do so your support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading and for your support.
