A group of children from St Pirans school are running the Marlow 5k Santa Fun Run on Sunday 4th December to support an amazing group called Chatterbox..

Chatterbox provide speech therapy to children who have Downs Syndrome and are attending mainstream schools in the local area. NHS Speech Therapy is basically non existent and the majority of children with Downs Syndrome have some form of speech delay or need extra speech help, so a group of parents, including our own Sam Turner, set up Chatterbox to provide essential therapy.

Chatterbox use a specialist company, who have excellent experience in helping children with Downs Syndrome to talk and articulate clearly. The Therapist goes into the school and spends an hour each week with the child on a one to one basis (with the support of that child's Teaching Assistant). This also allows the TA to pick up tools that can be used in class as a follow on exercise.

Chatterbox receives no funding at all from RBWM, so every penny needs to be raised to allow this Group to continue to offer the invaluable service it provides.

Please help us to raise money for this amazing cause - the children and parents promise to do their best Father Christmas impressions all the way round. Many parents have not run for a very long time and most children have never done a 5k race before so this is a big thing for everyone.
