Story

I AM DELIGHTED TO UPDATE EVERYONE WITH THE FANTASTIC NEWS THAT YASMIN HAD A CALL AT 10PM ON THE 1ST FEBRUARY SAYING THAT A DONOR MATCH HAD BECOME AVALIBLE, AND WENT INTO THEATRE FOR HER DOUBLE LUNG TRANSPLANT ON THE 2ND FEBRUARY. YASMIN ENDURED AN 11 HOUR OPERATION, ONLY TO GO BACK IN A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER FOR ANOTHER 3 HOUR OPERATION

YASMIN WILL NOW BE IN RECOVERY FOR 6 MONTHS, AND CONTINUE TO STAY OVER NIGHT IN CAMBRIDGE FOR APPOINTMENTS AT PAPWORTH HOSPITAL (where she had her lung transplant) FOR REGULAR CHECKUPS AND BIOSPSYS TO ENSURE SHE IS WELL AND HER LOVELY NEW LUNGS ARE FUNCTIONING AS THEY SHOULD. THESE APPOINTMENTS WERE INITIALLY WEEKLY, THEN FORTNIGHTLY AND WILL BE EVERY 3 WEEKS UP TO 6 MONTHS POST TRANSPLANT, AFTER THIS TIME YASMINS APPOINTMENTS WILL BE MONTHLY. YASMIN IS NOW ON ANTI REJECTION MEDICATION FOR LIFE, AND IF THERE'S ANY SIGN OF REGECTION THEN SHE WILL NEED TO RETURN TO PAPWORTH HOSPITAL FOR A MINIMUM OF A 3 NIGHT 4 DAY STAY TO RECEIVE ANTI REJECTION TREATMENT. THE RISK OF HER BODY REGECTING HER NEW LUNGS IN THE FIRST YEAR IS VERY HIGH.

THIS HAS BEEN TOTALLY LIFE CHANGING AND HER CAREER AS A HAIRDRESSER HAS SADLY ENDED DUE TO HER HEALTH AND ALL THE CHEMICALS THAT GO INTO HAIR PRODUCTS, SO YASMIN WILL NOW BE LOOKING FOR A NEW CAREER PATH FOR HER FUTURE.

SO PLEASE HELP ME RAISE MONEY FOR YASMIN TO HELP WITH HER TRAVEL AND OVER NIGHT COSTS IN CAMBRIDGE AND TO BE ABLE TO HELP FUND ANYTHING SHE WOULD LIKE TO DO FOR HER LOVELY BRIGHT FUTURE.

THANK YOU

On the 14th April 2019 I will be running the Brighton Marathon. This time I have chosen to run and raise money solely for Yasmin, to help her personally fund what's needed in her life. Yasmin has been given months to live unless an Organ Donor becomes available.. so please support me to support Yasmin on this next part of her journey.. ❤️Thank you 💜

Yasmin has a rare condition called Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension which is a lung disorder characterised by high blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries. This disorder causes your blood to flow through the stiff and narrowed pulmonary artery with greater heart pumping force.

Yasmin was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension in December 2017 after struggling for well over a year of having low energy levels and feeling breathless.

Over the last year Yasmin has been a huge part of raising awareness for people who have invisible disabilities after a stranger put a note on her car window accusing her of 'not being disabled' after she displayed her disabled badge and parked in a disabled bay. The original Favebook post went viral and the story was shared through local papers and also nationally online. Yasmin also has her own page on Instagram with over 2,000 followers raising awareness of Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) and sharing her journey from her diagnosis to the present day. You can follow her story on instagram @swift_yasmin Yasmins Unseen Ilness.

Over the last year Yasmins condition has dramatically deteriorated, she had to have a line fitted into her chest which pumps life saving medication into her body 24 hours a day, unfortunately even with her IV medication, her body didn't respond as initially intended and sadly Yasmins condition has now become critical and she desperately needs a double lung transplant.

So on the 14th April 2019 I will running The Brighton Marathon. I will be running for Yasmin and raising money solely for her to personally to fund whatever she needs on this next journey of her life.

Please also consider and take time to register as an Organ Donar at www.organdonation.nhs.uk What better legacy to leave behind than that of helping another person to live..

Much love xxxxx
