I've raised £2500 to Buy mattresses and mosquito nets, learning equipment, toys and clothes for the children in Nanyuki Orphanage

After visiting a local orphanage whilst on holiday in Kenya, I was shocked to see the conditions these small children were living in, it's a far cry from even a poor life in this country.
Greeted by smiling, grubby faces you can't help but smile back even though you're trying to process the sight of the place, but the smell is what's hitting you, the overpowering smell of urine in the smallest, darkest concrete room that houses 7-10 children in with nothing but a change of clothes to their name in a cold metal chest. I asked why it smelt so badly and one of the older children replied with 'I am afraid to leave my bed at night'..... I immediately thought of the younger ones with not even a teddy, comfort blanket, nor a mothers love or hug, I can't stop crying. Then I find out they have to sleep on this sodden mattress every night after as they have no facility to clean this mattress and no money to buy even a mattress protector.
They also can't go to school, even the state schools which are free to attend require a child to have a school uniform, which they can't afford.
While walking around the orphanage talking to the local social worker she explains to me that the government funds this orphanage but funds are limited and these kids are the lucky ones!! We walk past the kitchen where the children are lined up along the wall with a cup each, waiting to get a cup full of what I can only describe as brown slop, it's their breakfast and when they get it it's quiet, they still smile.
After 30 minutes here I have decided I can't go home and do nothing, I have to help, bringing Mini rolls and lollies is a small plaster on a fatal wound, these babies need more so PLEASE PLEASE help me help them, for a few quid in the pot here will help ten fold in Kenya.
I am trying to get each child a comfortable mattress with protector, a mosquito net, age appropriate toys or teddies, blankets and more than a set of clothes each, shoes too. The older children desperately need cleaning and sanitary products as they reach adolescence, they have nothing but water, if you can't afford money and you have any shower products etc get them to me please and I'll send them over monthly.
There are around 50 children at this orphanage, around £50 each would change their lives completely, please help in ANY way you can.
I will update with pictures and videos when they get their first packages.
