Story
Www.williamstewartfoundation.org
This is a small charity in Malawi. The aim is to feed orphans and elderly people, teach life skills and give out bibles to those who want them.
2017 was not a good year for me healthwise. I am on my way to recovery after a long illness. I need to get fitter and lose some weight. I am challenging myself to cycle (on my exercise bike) the length of the UK from Lands End to John O Groats. As well as helping myself, I hope to raise money to support the foundation to build a resource centre where they can feed the orphans (approx 100 in the local area) and elderly people. They would be able to hold community events, church and school and counselling sessions which will be a big part in helping these children to overcome the traumas they have faced in their short lives. I would be so grateful if you could help me and i know the foundation and the people it is helping would be so thankful to you.

6 years agoBack on track (hopefully) with cycling. Was a big achievement to get back on the exercise bike today. Still been struggling with health but now given up work and this year is going to be better 😀 My two lovely volunteers Lynne James and Karen Flashman have added their cycle kms to mine. So Lynne has 105km to add 🤩 Karen has 70km to add 🤩 And i’ve just done 5km 🤩 So that’s 180kms to bring the new total to 596kms 🤗 Let’s get some more food for the orphans! 🙏

6 years agoHi everyone Happy New Year... 2019 already? Where did last year go? I’ve still struggled with my health in 2018 so didn’t manage much cycling 😢 however, I still kept busy by supporting The William Stewart Foundation in other ways. So today was HUGE for me to get back on the bike and do 5km.... I have two lovely assistants who have volunteered to add their kilometres to mine. Thank you so much Lynne James and Karen Flashman. I am very grateful for your support. I have some totals to add then we will be back on track with regular updates.

I’m a neighbour of William and wanted to buy a couple of Chickens for the farm as he mentioned. Not mentioned on the website so this seemed the easiest way to donate - presumably for the same Village.

There are a lot of connections between Scotland and Malawi and I am pleased to help improve the living conditions of Malawians in whatever way I can. A great cause.
