2017This is my beautiful friend and colleague Sara - or as she’s known by my children, Mrs McKenzie, as she’s been a teacher at their school for many years.

As well as being a fantastic teacher and colleague, Sara is also a mother to her two beautiful children Noah & Willow and wife to her husband Ross.

Sara was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 while she was on maternity leave with her little girl. She bravely battled and won that fight - showing everyone around her the depth of her courage, strength and resilience.

Heartbreakingly, Sara has recently discovered the cancer has returned to her body secondary in multiple bones, stage 4, and incurable.

This incredible lady is now facing the most difficult challenge anyone can deal with in life. Words cannot describe what my beautiful friend and her family are going through right now. Even while going through all of this Sara is still wanting to help others, hoping her story might help someone else get a diagnosis and treatment.

It’s for Sara that Claire and Diane have decided to run the Goggins 4x4x48 challenge on 18th March. This is running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours, yes that includes running through the night for 2 nights! We want to raise as much money as possible for Sara and her family. We want them to be able to make a memory, purchase a keepsake or put money to one side for Noah & Willow when they get older.

We want to make a real impact with the money raised so are asking all friends and family to please dig deep and help us.
