Story
Im trying to raise money to help fund a conservation trip to Honduras with my school. During the time there we will be collecting data about the wildlife and animals in the cloud forests and nearby coral reefs.
We are going to spend a week in the cloud forests researching the animals we find in this unique environment. This will allow me to learn important skills which i can use in later projects i throw myself into, this includes handling of reptiles, mist nest sampling and many others. This also involves how to correctly analyse the data and make accurate predictions on how new techniques can prevent extinction. I will also develop my knowledge on the biodiversity and link this into both my Biology and Geography A levels.
During the second week we will be learning about the coral reefs and marine life in the tropics. Here we will also train to recieve our PADI open water diving certificates and help relocate non native fish species to improve local rarer fish populations.
For the last 6 years i have been volunteering at the Lake District Osprey Project and have grown a love for these beautiful birds so i also plan to do my own little reseach project comparing the difference between our migratory british birds and the ones in the tropics.
Anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated, and will definitely be put to a deserving cause.
