Donations in memory of Saúl Balogh Jones

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Saúl passed away on Saturday 9th of July in very tragic circumstances. We are raising money to support his mum who has lost her beautiful 14 year old son. Saúl's mum, Sonia Balogh, is a single mother of her only child Saúl and was his main carer as he was a special child with extra needs.

We would love to raise as much money as possible to help support Sonia with the funeral costs and any inmediate cost that could rise. This is why we have set up this page where you choose how much you donate to the cause and to the just giving page.

About Saúl:

Saúl was born with the biggest smile and had a zest for life that was always there with him, in his playfulness and his wish to engage with everything and everyone.

Saúl had a sensorial disorder, ADHD and Autism from a young age, and went to St. Luke’s School for special educational needs where he was loved, made friends and enjoyed his learning experience immensely. This never took away his intelligence, his gifts and social brilliance such as his infectious smile that could light up a room. It is true to say he had a unique kind of personal magic, a glow that you can see in his photos. Saúl has touched many people’s hearts during his life, not only in school, but in the clubs he belonged to, in the Spanish classes that he attended and, of course, his family and friends which are many. Saúl had a very close relationship with his Mum, Sonia, who dedicated her life fully to ensure he lived a fulfilling life, always guiding him, supporting him and keeping him open to opportunities to be an independent young man.

He also had an extraordinary connection with dragons. He was constantly drawing them and creating or building them; whether with Lego or with blue tack, his designs always caught the attention and ignited our imagination as they leapt off of every page.

At his young age, he loved cooking and eating good food, his love for sushi was immense. He could never eat enough of it. That, and yoyo bears!

His favorite places were playground sandpits, the river at his grandmother’s village and seashores. Always building and always finding things to build with, his mind and hands were ever creative and in harmony.

From his Spanish heritage, he very much enjoyed Spanish comics, Spanish radio programs and speaking fluently in his mother’s tongue. More recently, Saúl discovered sports and a natural talent for playing cricket and javelin throwing as well as riding his bicycle and practicing parkour.

Saúl was a 14-year-old St Albans boy who was taken far too soon, but who was much loved by family and friends and will always be in our hearts.
