My name is Sauren and I have set up this Just Giving page to fundraise for my swim club, the Camden Swiss Cottage Swim Club (CSCSC). I will be participating in a swim-a-thon on the 12th December 2021, where in 2 hours I will pledge to swim 🏊‍♂️ 6-7 kilometres and have a personal goal to raise up to £300 with this fundraiser.

I have chosen to participate in this swim-a-thon because post covid, CSCSC is in trouble financially. Membership of the club has suffered with 100 swimmers leaving as a direct result of Covid-19. There have also been changes to the structure which previously enabled the club to make money. CSCSC has a plan to rectify this financial crisis, but it will take time to implement and make the club profitable again. While the club recuperates, monies raised from this swim-a-thon will be used to bridge them financially and hopefully keep the club going for many years to come.

CSCSC is important to me personally because I have swam with them for 4 years and love the club. The club has helped me keep both my physical and mental health through covid and it is my community and support network of friends outside of school. I have become a faster swimmer, learned about the importance of hard work and determination and engaged in competitive swimming all thanks to the club.
