I'm raising £6000 to Save Greensward Green Belt

Organised by Gillian Hine
Local community

Story

Our ancient woodland is a treasure that needs your help.

Recently, a proposal has been made by Pigeon Developments to build 90 new homes and an 80-bed care home on a green belt area by Greensward Lane, Hockley Essex. This development threatens not only our cherished wildlife but also the very essence of our community's green spaces and its encroachment to the local Ancient Beckney Woods.

We urgently need to raise funds to pay for associated costs to aid us in protecting this vital habitat and ensure that our green belt areas in Hockley remain safe. Our doctors, schools, and NHS dentists are already near impossible to get timely appointments for local residents, and despite this, it has been confirmed that there will be no further addition of much-needed facilities with the proposed build.

Greensward Lane is already overused by traffic passing through Hockley to the surrounding towns and villages; this development will further add to the congestion already seen on a near-daily basis with no proposed enhancements to the road infrastructure. Together, we can stand up against these large developers and advocate for the preservation of our natural environment.

Your support is crucial in this fight; every contribution counts. We are aiming to raise funds to safeguard our woodland and the wildlife that calls it home. Please join us in this important community challenge.
