In court magistrates ordered that Harry should be destroyed. He has not shown aggression to anyone, he's not even growled, his crime is that he's young, energetic and his owner has two young children, on those grounds the magistrates decided he doesn't deserve to live.

Harry was lost by the person caring for him, picked up in a strange town on the other side of the country, taken to a pound as a stray. From there he was taken to police approved kennels where he has remained. Despite being alone, in unfamiliar surroundings and handled by many strange people, he has not shown any cause for concern. Our assessor found him not dangerous, the police agreed that he has not growled nor tried to bite anyone.

Beth, his owner, is understandably upset, she has travelled across the country three times to attend court for her dog, the first two cases were adjourned. Beth is a working single mother and no legal aid is available for these cases, she is of good character, she has heightened her fences, bought extra baby gates, altered her garden, all on the recommendation of the police, yet they still asked for her dog to be destroyed. Simply because of his appearance, because he conforms to the measurements of a pit bull type dog.

We WILL be appealing this ruling. This is not the end of the road for Harry, the journey is just a little longer. Harry needs your help to save him.
