Four months ago my mum was told she had a recurrence of cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer), inoperable and incurable and that she may have only 9 months to live. She is amazing and my best friend.There are no treatments in the UK that kills this cancer.
She had been cancer free for 2 years since her first diagnosis when the original tumour was removed. She was on a no sugar, plant based diet, juicing every day and exercising regularly. Unfortunately, her two year check up showed it had come back.
She was showing no symptoms and refused to accept the prognosis, so my mum and stepdad Conrad flew to America to find any other options. Within days they found a hospital where my mum started a series of 9 bespoke, integrated treatments, none of which were offered in the UK, which continued over a period of 2 months before having to return home.
The doctor in the USA is convinced that she can cure this cancer but needs more time and insisted that my mum went back again for a life saving Dendritric Cell Cancer Vaccine (which they are trialling soon in the UK for a more common liver cancer, but it will be 5 years before its made available). On 12th September my mum had Pet and CT scans here in the UK.
The doctors were amazed that the cancer has remained so contained as they had expected it to have spread much more by now and were scratching their heads at the results. They still insisted however that they expected my mum not to survive more than 12 months.
We believe 100% in the doctor in the USA, she is an ex surgeon and a micro biologist and is performing miracles in a small hospital in California where patients who have been diagnosed as terminal are getting better every day. She has strongly recommended for mum to go back ASAP to do the vaccine which will be made specifically to kill her cancer.
The treatments are very expensive and even with help from our family, we have just about run out of money.
