We have now purchased The Chequers for the community! Can you help us fund its restoration to bring it back to its former glory?

The Chequers has served generations of our rural community for more than 250 years, but it has been closed since its previous owners retired in 2021.

Following a massive community effort and a time limited share offer, the Roxwell Chequers Community Benefit Society Ltd bought the pub in April 2024. It is now a community owned pub, a model that has worked successfully for many other pubs around the country.

We are now progressing a six month renovation programme which must be completed before the pub can trade again.

Renovating such an old building that has been largely vacant for three years is a huge task, so any help you can offer our crowdfunding campaign to support it would be hugely appreciated.
