Story

When Simbi first came to us, his body showed signs of a rough life on the street: he had to fight multiple severe infections, skin allergies, fleas and worms. Luckily, the 8-year-old boy was able to receive treatment soon seemed to get better!

But suddenly, he started feeling poorly again. Some of his wounds, one abscess in particular, were not healing, the vet was worried about a lump on his back, and he seemed overall getting more and more unwell. So we rushed him to the vet, where he underwent various tests including FIV and bloods. The diagnosis? FIV. Our sweet boy tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, a condition that weakens the immune system making them more vulnerable to infections. No wonder the abscess wasn’t healing. He was put on medication and, again, seemed to get better.

Then we got another alarming message: his foster got in touch about Simbi exhibiting unstable appetite, going for elongated periods without eating and refusing dry food completely. He also started pain signals like appearing ”frozen” from time to time and not letting anyone touch him towards his front legs at all.

Now we need your help!

After a chat with our vet, we decided that it would be best to get him seen and his tummy area scanned, to ensure that he’ll get the care he needs. But unfortunately, these scans are expensive and we’ve maxed out our resources covering his previous treatments. But we cannot stop now! Simbi deserves to live a happy and healthy life, and we want to do anything in our abilities to give this to him.

Please, open your heart and donate today. Every single penny goes directly toward Simbi’s life-changing treatment and care. Help us give Simbi the happy, healthy future he deserves, he has a whole lifetime ahead of him!
