Story

We are reaching out to you on behalf of 35 endangered rare breed small horses, the Skyrian horses, based on a remote island of Skyros, in hope that you might be interested in supporting the work conserving, promoting and caring for these amazing little horses. (My brother Jed had the pleasure of meeting these horses this Summer and fell in love with them and we have decided we wanted to do something to help)

Stathis and Amanda have dedicated the last 12 years of their lives to this unique primitive and endangered breed, somehow they have always managed to protect and care for 35 Skyrian horses and many other Skyrian horses on the island, where the winters can be harsh and the summers dry and extrmely hot and where he majority of hay has to be imported in from the mainland.

Alongside of this they have offered educational and life enriching experiences for many volenteers and educated local people about the Skyrian horse and horse wlefare. Whilst also raising the profile of this endangered equine species. BUT they are now at the point where they have used up all their financial resources and are in desperate need of financial help to keep the project open by donating to their winter fund.

To be able to continue to protect and feed their 35 Skyrian horses, through the winter and into the Spring they need the sum of 5000 for 1000 bales of hay. Here is the link to their website: https://skyrosislandhorsetrust.com

So we are reaching out to ask for your help on their behalf, in any way you can, any donation will be gratefully received, donations of any size, would be hugely appreciated and will go directly to hay for the horses that has already been ordered but not delivered and will allow them to continue to care for this unique endangered breed.
