Our objective is to purchase the freehold of The Green Dragon in Combe St Nicholas on behalf of the community. To start this process we have formed the ‘Save the Dragon’ campaign and stood up a Steering Committee. Our plans for purchasing The Green Dragon will be via a combination of community funding, public and private grants and possibly raising a mortgage from an ethical lender. We are aiming to launch a ‘Share Offer’ to the community once we have completed our due diligence.

However, we need your help now…

As you may imagine, even conducting our initial due diligence is going to need some money. We need to raise in the region of £2,500 to cover a professional business valuation, a structural survey, searches, registration of our society under the Financial Conduct Authority and all communication costs. By donating you’ll be helping us to do everything in our power to ensure that The Green Dragon remains a valuable community asset.

Please note, that this is not the fundraiser for the purchase of the pub, this is simply to help cover the initial costs so we can move forwards with the campaign.

If we are unsuccessful raising enough funds to cover the initial costs and the campaign does not move forwards to purchase The Green Dragon, anything collected that has not been spent on those associated costs previously mentioned will be donated to charity or will be used to fund something that the local community can benefit from. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer any refunds.
