Story
We are a local neighbourhood group trying to raise funds for legal advice to help us stop overseas developers filling in one of Liverpool's most historic docks (West Waterloo Dock) to build four 10-storey blocks, comprising 538 apartments. The developer says he wants to "build communities" - but 70% of the proposed apartments will be one bedroom. They will obscure the view into the World Heritage site from the river and UNESCO have said that if this dock is filled in and built on, Liverpool will lose its World Heritage Status in 2020. 4 years agoJust to let everyone, who has so generously donated to our appeal, know that we have instructed and received advice from a solicitor. We are currently awaiting the Planning Officers Report to the Planning Committee, which we will pass on to them then await further instructions. If any of you haven’t already shared our appeal with your family, friends and contacts we would be enormously grateful if you could do so.

This beautiful historic site is already threatened by the building of the new IOM ferry terminal along the edge of the W waterloo Dock. Why not develop the disused area to north of this?
