Story

This is a fundraiser for Potters Bar Residents Association, set up to protect our local rights of way in response to - THE PLANNING OF EUROPES LARGEST HYPER-SCALE DATA CENTRE ON OUR GREENBELT LAND IN POTTERS BAR.

SAVE 85 ACRES OF OUR GREEN LUNG.

This is a call to ACTION, DON'T WAIT UNTIL ITS TOO LATE. We need your help, we are receiving funds to support leaflet printing, awareness and further support. Please join our groups and community meetings found below.

Next to Dame Alice Owens School lies expansive green fields, woodland and a flowing brook. This land is a beautiful natural valley that runs down into the river.

Planning permission has been granted in this location by the council to build 3X DATA CENTRES, the size of two Heathrow Terminals, in this location. The proposed plans include a large bridge over the existing brook, and extensive underground pipeline works.

This will GREATLY affect the local community in many ways.

Such as;

Destruction of 85 Acres of local environment, loss of biodiversity and wildlife.

Loss of valuable greenbelt.

Noise, air and light pollution.

Huge amounts of power usage.

Visible eyesore, buildings are proposed 23 meters high.

Loss of 40 Oak Trees, all over 150 years + the oldest is 240 years old.

Distruption of 11 public rights of way, for equestrians, walkers and cyclists, community groups, scouts and schools.

Dispute of 'new grey belt' terminology and classification.

Proximity to Dame Alice Owens School, possible physical and mental health repercussions for students and local residents.

Minimal jobs and hire advantages.

Inadequate community engagement.
