Hi, I’m Anna Berry. I’m an artist, and this is my immersive kinetic artwork, Breathing Room, and we need your help!

The piece is an immersive kinetic light installation that combines organic and machine elements into a unique sensory experience.

It was a long journey to create BR starting from its original inception as a socially engaged intervention in a shop space in 2014, to this current spectacular incarnation.

And now we need your help to secure its future.

Despite the overwhelming public response at each outing, pandemic lock downs, and the precarious financial position of the arts industry since the pandemic, has meant this last year the piece has remained in storage.

If we cannot fund continued storage, the Breathing Room would have to be destroyed. But with your help, we can raise the £5000 to cover the costs for the next year, and allow us to safely store the piece in between presentations.

With a bit of luck, and a bit of help from you guys, we can get Breathing Room back out in public space where it belongs, and have as many people as possible able to enjoy it.

About Breathing Room:

Framed by its mechanical exterior skeleton, which contrasts sharply with the organic interior, the illuminated tunnel invites audiences to travel through its gently moving interior for a unique multi-sensory immersive experience. Every element of the structure is bespoke and hand-made. Tens of thousands of paper-like cones line the tunnel, moving as if the structure itself is breathing, creating an uncanny and otherworldly experience.

Anna Berry is a UK artist who often works in non-gallery environments. She enjoys creating large installations and often works with paper and movement.
