I've raised £5000 to pay for legal and expert advice needed to save the ancient trees in Dinas Powys Woods from flooding if a proposed dam is built.

We are Save Dinas Powys Woods and Protect Homes from Flooding.
We are an independent group of citizens who are concerned at plans published by Natural Resources Wales to flood a beautiful and much loved area of ancient woodland on the edge of Dinas Powys.
We also want to support local residents who have fears about flooding to their property, which - we believe - have been exaggerated by Natural Resources Wales.
The area will flood about 4 times a year if NRW build the proposed dam in the Mill Fields, threatening fragile flora and fauna. It's likely there are less invasive alternatives that will prevent Dinas Powys anticipated future flooding but NRW aren't listening.
We set up this group to look into solutions and, with the help of The Woodland Trust, try to persuade them to reconsider, save ancient woodland and keep our lovely woods open to the public WHILE STILL PROTECTING HOMES.
Please join Save Dinas Powys Woods. The more people that get behind this, the better chance we have of saving our woods.
Help us raise money to pay for expert and legal advice needed to save the trees so that we can persuade NRW to find a more environmental friendly plan to prevent the houses in Dinas Powys from flooding in future.
We propose that any funds not spent on this campaign will be donated to a local environmental charity.
