Story
Dubrovnik is a beautiful old walled city with breathtaking scenery and architecture.
Lurking beneath the glitz and glamour however is an incredibly sad and painful story for any animal lover.
Thousands of stray cats roam the cobbled streets at night looking for food and love from the tourists that come here.
Once the tourists leave however, many will die through hunger and disease, culls also take place to control their population.
Please help me to raise funds for SOS Dubrovnik Cats to purchase much needed animal capture equipment and vaccines to enable the volunteers to help the many stray street cats in Dubrovnik and the surrounding areas.
The groups main aim is to improve the quality of life and control the ever increasing population of the stray street cats of Dubrovnik and surrounding areas and to prevent hunger, disease, cruelty, sickness and the birth of unwanted kittens. To bring awareness to the plight of the street cats and to help the local volunteers who care for them and feed them every day but who are over whelmed by the numbers and finding it hard to cope.
Since 2010 twice a year the group of cat loving volunteers from the UK and Ireland travel to Dubrovnik in Croatia to help the street cats. They trap neuter and return as many as they possibly can and work along side local volunteers and a local Croatian vet located in Lapad.
I am currently on holiday in Dubrovnik and have been shocked to my core at the situation within this city.
Most people walk past and turn a blind eye, if you love cats please don't be one of them. This has to stop.
Thanks for your help.
