Story

We recently recieved the heartbreaking news that our beautiful Effie has b-cell type lymphoma. Lymphoma in dogs is famously difficult to treat as they cannot perform an operation to remove the tumors, instead having to focus on chemotherapy for treatment.

Following extensive discussions with our vet, it has been decided that the best course of action for us to take, will be to see a specialist dog oncologist in the Wirral. As Effie is only middle aged this would provide us with a much higher chance of her making a full recovery and giving her, and us, the time that she deserves, to live a full and happy life.

We rescued Effie aged 3 at a time where I was at my lowest point in life. Following a difficult personal trauma my mental health was at a critical point. Effie was my reason to get out of bed every day, open the curtains, she gave me a purpose when I felt completely helpless. She provided me with the unconditional love that is required to heal from such difficult times and in turn, saved my life. Now the least I can do is try to return the favour.

We have already eaten into a huge chunk of our insurance allowance for the year in getting a diagnosis aswell as a part of her lymph nodes removed. Taking Effie to the specialist could run well into the tens of thousands of pounds which is why we have had to make the difficult decision to try and fund-raise.

We will be so grateful for any donations, big or small, to help save Effie's life. We would also appreciate for you to share our cause as far and wide as possible to give us the furthest reach, thank you so much. ♡
