Story

The Save Our Pastures action group is initially raising £1,000 to support the next phase of our campaign: how best to take advantage of the huge potential of the site’s unique combination of buildings and safe, highly biodiverse grounds.

Earlier this year the Leytonstone community successfully came together to oppose Waltham Forest Council’s plans to replace the Pastures Community Centre, Good Shepherd Building and their grounds in Davies Lane with housing.

We are now developing a robust and realistic business plan for the Pastures facilities and grounds. The plan will place this important and much-loved site at the heart of the local community and ensure it meets the needs and aspirations of residents, businesses and organisations. We want Pastures to be accessible to all for sport, education, business and jobs, youth engagement, arts, culture and community events.

Your donation will help us to continue working with the community in Leytonstone to develop a shared vision for Pastures. To start the community consultation process and produce a business plan for a Pastures centre that benefits the whole community requires initial funding. We will communicate our progress through posters, leaflets and our website, all of which have costs attached as well. Any contribution that will help us to continue our work will be very gratefully received.

Thank you for your support.
