Story

⭐️ Covid-19 has had a detrimental effect on Starlight Arts as it has on many organisations. We have still had to continue to pay for ongoing costs such as storage, insurance etc during both lockdowns. We have ran an extensive timetable online for all members to access and have not charged members. Starlight has been open for the last ten years and started with 6 members. We are a non for profit organisation and rely on members fees, fundraising and donations. As well as having limited sessions this year we have been unable to do any shows where we can raise money for Starlight, including any fundraising activities. We have ran where we can face to face to keep offering those oppurtunities for members continued wellbeing in a safe way being covid secure. PPE has been a huge cost with no help from the government as we are not ofsted or CQC. We have moved into the hall where our room hire has doubled and we are running on 1/3 of members. I have approached the council and explained the situation we are in and that i require some more financial support to keep starlight open. We have had a grant from ongo and a covid grant from tesco, but after nearly a year of very little money coming from elsewhere we are in a position now where we do not know how much longer we can continue past the next two terms. I am reaching out via crowdfunding to ask anyone if they even have a spare £1 if you could donate to try to keep starlight alive And providing oppurtunities for disabled adults!! ⭐️
