    Story

The fishermen of Cove have been fighting an eviction order for the past three years - an order which will essentially end centuries of fishing heritage of the village. The owner, a Mr Pralhad Kolhe, has effectively blockaded access to the harbour by placing huge boulders on the pier , installing plastic barriers dumped large piles of rocks in front of the vessels at the top of the beach, placed boulders along the access to make parking and turning of vehicles very difficult and installed a private property sign at the entrance. These actions not only impinge on the fishermen but also the many other users such as divers, climbers, rock fishers, kayakers and general visitors to the picturesque harbour.
There have been numerous requests of Mr kolhe to have a dialogue with the fishermen but he has refused on every occasion. The significant legal costs to date have been largely borne by the fishermen with the help of well appreciated donations, however with a number of recent court hearings and further court session in the near future, we have to appeal once again for your help and support to continue the fight to ensure Cove's fishing tradition continues and our visitors and other users of the harbour are allowed to purse and enjoy their activities unhindered.
Please pass on details of this site to all your contacts.
On behalf of the fishermen and other harbour users - many thanks for taking the time to read the above and hopefully your support
    Regards - Jim Adam

Folks on behalf of the fishermen and the other users and visitors to our historic harbours, I' like to take this opportunity to thanks all our supporters for their contributions. It is important that we keep this historic site open to all. The indication that the harbour will be closed to vehicular access will deny many people from enjoying all the area has to offer. Grateful you pass this message to all your contacts. Once again many thanks for all your support. Jim
