Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
At 4am on May 10th our beloved little bar was robbed. While not much was taken physically (Cash Register including £1,200 and some stock) the issue has really hit with the fact that all the cables to our CCTV were cut and the recording unit and harddrive taken away, fortunately we had a backup system recording his entry and exit from the building but all we know is that he was in the building for over an hour and we have no idea what he did except for what have been able to piece together from the evidence provided. we know that he accessed behind the bar on Park street as the cash register was taken and one of the fridge doors left open. We"contaminated" and as such cannot be sold. This leaves us in a position of finding ourselves needing to replace over £13k of stock, replace a full cctv system (as legally due to licensing laws we are not allowed to trade if cctv is not present and functional) replace and fix the locks on the door that were broken, replace our til system. We estimate these costs to come in at around £15k.
We are insured for Public and Employee Liability but due to the fact we have no intruder alarm, no shutters over the doors and the windows are primarily single glazing, we struggled to find reasonable insurance for less than £900 a month which was more than we were able to afford.
We are hoping to raise as much as possible to be able to reopen and continue trading and providing you with a weird and wonderful bar. We have a number of events planned alongside this fundraiser to help us reach our goal
We pride ourselves on being Swansea's most LGBTQ+ accepting venue, as well as providing a safe space for people who suffer from social anxieties, We're a fun and inclusive venue for people who find they don't usually have somewhere that they can be themselves.
