Weʼve raised £40,014 to help improve the rescue facilities for the unwanted and abandoned dogs. We had 30 days to move & save the dogs, we did it against all odds

    Story

Despite having a tenancy agreement until February 2024, the landlord gave us 30 days notice to vacate in December That meant we had just 30 days in December to find new premises or the dogs we had already saved would be PTS. There could not have been a.more worse time with Christmas holidays making it even more difficult.

But thanks to the amazing support we received, from all our supporters here on Just Giving, we raised £25,000 in time to get us moved. The rescue was saved and, we got our Christmas Miracle!

Although we had enough funds to cover the move, and save the dogs, we would like to continue fundraising to improve hte facilities on site, purchase new kennels, replace the insulation on all existing kennel blocks and re-line the bed areas to ensure the dogs are kept as warm and comfy as possible. We also require money to make the necessary alterations and improvements to the new temporary premises such as installing electricity, lighting and a quarantine area.

We would also like to raise enough funds for a vehicle that will allow us to transport dogs easily and securely to the vets, take our therapy dogs to the elderly and schools. Having an appropriate vehicle will also enable us continue our work supporting Drone Search and Rescue (DroneSAR) for lost and abandoned dogs. Additionally, this will benefit local members of the public, who find themselves in desperate need of help to find their beloved pets that have gone missing.

There are no words for us to express the true level of our heartfelt gratitude for all your love, generosity and support that has helped us endure this living nightmare and finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you the best Christmas present ever, a true Christmas Miracle.

Over the last 7 years, we have saved 1000's of dogs from being PTS, assisted dogs with leishmaniasis and continue to fund their life saving care to this day, we have matched up dogs to elderly people, providing them comfort and company to help alleviate loneliness as well as providing 100's of students a placement for their Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, work experience for Rodbaston and Staffordshire colleges and of course Trainee Vets. In addition we facilitate schools like The Bridge Academy for children who cannot attend mainstream schools due to various emotional, social and behavioural needs.

It's been a while since our last update, and although it has only been 3 weeks since we began moving to the new site, it feels much longer as we have been busy settling in the dogs. There is still soo much to do, but yet we have done so much already. The dogs are doing well and we still cannot quite believe we managed to do it in time. We have raised a staggering amount that we have spent so far on moving costs and rent. Today, thanks to the Burntwood Group, the harccore is now being made safe and ready for the kennel bases to be laid

The Max & George Trust setup in 2016 helping dogs with Leishmaniasis. From there it grew into rescuing dogs from dire situations including kill centres or dogs that would be PTS here in the UK. We now rehome around 200 dogs a year & support schools like the Bridge Academy
