Story
Me and my husband have just spent 2 weeks in Greece for our wedding/ honeymoon, whilst we were there we travelled around a lot and couldn’t help but notice the neglect and how badly treated the dogs are in this country they are beaten, poisoned, starved and dumped.
We were in a car park where we fell in love with this beautiful dog, we spoke to a local who explained that he is getting attacked by other dogs in the evenings, and at risk of getting run over every day, he is starving hungry and petrified.
Sadly we even saw other locals kick out at him and hiss at him.
We managed to buy this poor boy some food and water which even though he was starving he was still hesitant to take off us fearful we would harm him the way a lot of people sadly do in Greece.
We have contacted local shelters in Greece and charities and we would really love to bring him to the uk to give him a chance at a real life.
As you can imagine this isn’t cheap to do.
Greek laws state that he must be neuted, have his vaccinations and medical check for diseases, he will also have to have a blood test to check for rabies and gain a passport after this. Once all this is cleared he can then fly to the UK where he can start a new life.
We will also have to send money for food for him so that he can be cared for while all these things are taking place in Greece.
We hope that we can raise enough money to bring him to a real home so he can be a special dog from our special place in Greece!
We we could ask for money for a second honeymoon and a new set of pots and pans, but we don’t want any of that, we want to give this poor boy a loving home and hopefully try to help fix this massive problem that unfortunately this beautiful and special country has.
If if there are any extra funds sent then we will send it out to dog shelters in Greece to help with the cost of feeding and neutering these dogs.
