Story

There is always hope.

Amanda (our mom) was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer just over 12 months ago. Chemotherapy treatment started just a few weeks later to try and reduce the cancer which started in the large bowel but spread to her lungs, liver, small bowel, ovaries, stomach lining and gallbladder. Since then has there has been countless obstacles which she has fought and overcome to get where she is now, surviving and defying all odds.

After 15 rounds of chemotherapy, Amandas tumours had reduced in size. The largest 7.4cm liver tumour had reduced to just over 2.5cm and she had been recommended to undergo a life changing operation. The operation would require 2 specialist surgeons to removing as many tumours as possible, including various organs which would take over 14 hours and leave her in intensive care and then recovering for at least 6 months.

Much to our disbelief and after a 10 week wait, the operation had been cancelled on the day with the reason unknown. 2 days later a consultation revealed the sinister reason for the cancelled operation, the 'extremely aggressive' cancer had started growing again in my moms liver and had also now spread to her bones, fracturing my mom's pelvis bone leaving Amanda bed and wheelchair bound, completely dependant on those around her.

Again, Amanda was advised that chemotherapy was the best treatment for her even with the truly horrific side effects that she has now been fighting for 12 months.

Now having had 18 chemotherapy treatments, 1 concentrated radiotherapy treatment, 2 bone fortifying injections and 2 blood transfusions Amanda is looking for an alternative treatment outside of the U.K. which will give her the chance to lead a more independent and fulfilling life without the harsh side effects which have now become too much.

Amanda had recently gone through a traumatic divorce after 20 years of marriage when she was diagnosed leaving her financially unstable and now in need of support. Any contributions would massively change my moms life and give her the chance to survive as well as help others when she gets the all clear with your support.

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read our story and contributing to help find an alternative treatment to save our moms life.
