    Story

In 2016, with the help and support of my lecturers at PASS and Elite Studio Centre I applied for the Scottish Ballet Youth Exchange 2016-17. I auditioned and got offered a place in the Youth Exchange, that this year is being taken to New York!!!!

In this Programme me and 14 other aspiring dancers are assembled together to form a Company for the year. Throughout our time together we are to work in many aspects and skills beyond those required on stage. We work together to make a joint fundraiser event that required varied tasks that we never done before.

Other aspects of this Programme are the amazing opportunities to work with our amazing choreographer Lorraine Jamieson, and other artists in the industry, such as Gary Clarke. We took class with several guests already and we also look forward for our time in New York!!

In New York the Youth Exchange is going to have the opportunity to train with New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey Dance Company and we are going to have a joint performance with the students from Tisch NYU School of Arts.

In the UK, the youth exchange is performing in Edinburgh's Festival Theatre and at Tramway.

The members of the Youth Exchange also get amazing opportunities to go and see shows together for free! We had already the opportunity to see Scottish Ballet, Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Richard Alston, Rambert and Gary Clarke's Coal Company.

For all of these amazing opportunities we are to fund-raise a minimum of £500. I am deciding to do this through this page and through a Showcase that I am organizing and putting up soon. I want to give back as much as possible because all that I have already experienced is worth so much more!

I hope you can help me do this!!

To this date I have been to see Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Rambert, Gary Clarke Coal Company. I had workshops with various associates of Scottish Ballet, the most recent was with the company's soloist Victor Zarallo!!! It was great to learn Repertoire from Pite's Emergence.
