    Story

Julie McDonnell from Hastings and who has Leukemia has founded a group called SBABC (Strike Back Against Blood Cancer) who are Bell Ringers who are raising the awareness of the 137 blood cancers that exist and the associated stem cell/bone marrow registers such as Anthony Nolan and DKMS. They also promote the fantastic work of Bloodwise.

However our financial focus has been to support those in England who have been denied a 2nd stem cell transplant. Funding is available in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. To date we have raised over 7 million GBP and we will continue to work with those that need funding for a 2nd stem cell transplant and have the opportunity of life.

This the our final fund raising page as from March we will be forming a charitable trust called SBABC. SBABC is now six months old and from March you will be able to gift aid all donations directly. Any money raised on this final page will be uplifted by 25% in Lieu of gift aid by a very generous sponsor.

Anyone who has need of our funding individually or is a charity that helps or is looking to eradicate blood cancer through research will be invited to approach SBABC for funding.

To date SBABC have held fund raising days and world wide bell ringing events such as "Julie McDonnell" Quarter Peal days. A "Julie McDonnell" Quarter Peal on the heaviest bells in the world at Liverpool Cathedral. "Murder in the Belfry" CLUEDO Day and various other initiatives.

This page is for tower donations from Quarter and full Peals of "Julie McDonnell" The Cathedral/Minster & Abbey challenge and one off donations.

Every £1 you donate will make a difference to blood cancer sufferers. Thank you for donating

For further details please visit our SBABC website which has full contact details and up to date news on our events.

The Barnwood ringers and friends tried to ring a Q of your New BobTriples yesterday. It went really well but failed as 2 bells had been swapped by the conductor. So we shall try again in March.
