Aberdeenshire - who are 1st Scottish Team to enter the National Refuse Championships in Weston-Super-Mare in June this year. The entry fee for the event goes to Alzheimer UK, and this is where the idea to support other organisations came from as the discussions started on Aberdeenshire attending. The team are organising a number of events to raise money to assist with travel and accommodation costs, with surplus funds then going to a variety of organisations

The entire idea for being involved in this event and every aspect of it is being driven by the men and women of the Waste team who are out there in all weathers collecting your waste and recycling. They are proud of what they do, and have been engaging with various organisations and customers highlighting what they are doing. They are demonstrating team work, team bonding, thinking about others and how they can use their efforts to attend this to help a variety of others. Supported by Aberdeenshire Council, they want to put the North East corner of Scotland well and truly on the map, and fly the flag not only for Aberedeenshire Waste staff but for all of Scotland's waste industry who are out there in all weathers.
