30,000 out of hopsital cardiac arrests happen each year in the UK and 9 out of 10 are sadly fatal. A cardiac arrest can affect anyone at anytime, whether you are at home, work or out in public. So investing in a defibrillator could be the difference between life and death (British Heart Foundation).

As a nursery we support one charity a year, we try as far as possible to ensure this charity is something close to the families and staff. Following our poll in August 2023, it was decided that ourselves and the community would benefit from a defibrillator.

In November 2023 4 of our staff (Cavell, Nicola, Julie and Louise) decided we would like to help support this cause by running the Edinburgh Marathon as a relay team on Sunday 26th May 2024.

We have already started fundraising for this in other ways and have had a great response so far. However, we still have a long way to go to ensure we have the correct funds for the defibrillator, the casing and hopefully the maintenance. We would be extremally grateful for any donations or support towards this cause.
