I've raised £3000 to continue removing marine plastics from Scotland's coastline

Through my love of the sea, our beautiful coastlines and my voluntary work with marine life organisations I have witnessed first hand the devastating effects of marine plastic pollution on our wildlife, beaches and seas.
I decided I had seen enough and packed up my car and tent with the intentions of doing a one off beach cleaning trip, sharing my journey online to raise awareness of the scale of the issues that our coastlines face.
This began in August 2017 and will continue for as long as I physically can. The one off trip has turned into a lifetime mission. I have now cleared over a ton of marine plastics (as of 18/1/18) from our shores on my days off work, mostly funded out of my own pocket.
I am a normal person, with an everyday job but with a passion and drive to encourage others to make a difference and to make a difference myself. I want to show people that even picking up one piece of marine plastic makes a massive difference to the marine environment.
All money raised goes directly to help me with equipment and fuel and spreading the message that this situation we are in is not ok, and that we can all make a difference.
