Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Cherbourg Primary School is a lovely school with 400 pupils in the heart of Eastleigh. A committed and professional staff help to meet the needs of all the pupils, including children with special educational needs and disabilities, children who are looked after and those with medical needs. The school is particularly proud of the difference they make to the mental health and wellbeing of their pupils.
Ofsted recently noted that ‘Cherbourg Primary School offers a particularly nurturing and inclusive community atmosphere. Together with governors and staff, the leadership team are very ambitious for the pupils in their care and passionate about improving the quality of provision for all pupils, particularly the most vulnerable.’
The school offers a wide and varied curriculum with all children learning at least five musical instruments in their time at school. Cherbourg is also a Forest School and all our children get regular opportunities to learn freely within local wooded or beach environments. The school offers all round care from 7.30a.m. to 6.00p.m. in both term time and holidays for children within Eastleigh.
A mini bus of our own would make a huge difference to the way in which we can transport pupils within their learning week. For example, we already transport families for Forest School trips and offer after school Forest club. We also provide transport for our choir to sing for local charities. With our own bus we could extend the range and frequency of these trips, which would make a big difference to our children and families. As one parent recently commented, Cherbourg is ‘a wonderful, caring school that supports my children in every way; they are happy, are thriving, and enjoy all aspects of their learning’.
We have been really grateful to be able to hire One Community transport to date, but a mini bus would be a bonus for our school community.
