Weʼre raising £500 to kickstart the Society for Computers & Law bursary scheme to help people with disabilities train for a career in law

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

The picture you can see above is of Haben Girma, the first deaf blind graduate of Harvard Law School. She is now a globally renowned advocate for disability rights. She is shown presenting the Society for Computers & Law annual lecture in 2019 where she dazzled the audience with her powerful and witty talk on why we should ensure that technology is accessible to all - as it says in the slide 'disability drives innovation'. You can watch the whole talk on the scl.org website.

Inspired by her message, the SCL is launching a bursary scheme to help people with disabilities train for a career in law.

We're running the Bath Half Marathon on 15th March 2020 to raise funds

Myself and my publishing partner, Helen Lacey (who I also happen to be married to), will run the Bath Half Marathon on 15th March 2020 (possibly in under 2 hours) and would be delighted if you could sponsor our efforts.

The SCL is an educational charity - read more on their website.
