One in every five children out-of-school in the world is in Nigeria.

My name is Tosin, I am a mother of 2 lovely girls and we live in the UK where education is free and fully funded by the government for children between ages 5 and 16.

In my country of origin Nigeria, education which is supposed to be a basic human right is unavailable to those who need it most - the children living in poverty. Orphans have no hope and parents cannot afford to put their children through school. For children that attend the government schools, they are being taught in overcrowded classrooms with no infrastructures or teaching aids and also by untrained teachers.

Orphans and children from poor families may never have the opportunity for quality education, current figures of children out of school in Nigeria is now estimated at 10,193,918.

In September 2020, I launched the SCLC Primary Education Support Program to help children return to education and offer support to those in Government Primary Schools. The weekend program provides free supplementary education to children from the less privileged homes and supplies all materials needed for running the program.

My team and i enrolled 120 children between ages 5 to 14 in the first year and by way of expansion, we have enrolled additional 120 children in September 2021, operating across two centres.

With the help of my friends and families , in 2020 , i was able to make payments for qualified graduate teachers , free meals during lunch break, stationaries, textbooks, school tee shirts, school bag and all other materials for the pupils and social events are organised for the children's benefit.

With 240 children benefitting from the free program this year and 26 paid staffs employed across both centres, I need your help to provide the quality education these children deserve.
