Story
I met Jessica whilst at my local supermarket one day. She had collapsed on the floor and her 8 year old daughter was trying to help her. She was having an episode where her whole body was shaking and then left wracked with pain.
Jess has a rare condition called Fibromyalgia, Hypermobility Syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Here are some of Jess’ symptons - Dislocations, subluxions, extreme pain, swelling, seizures, nausea, vomiting, suppressed immune system, infections, incontinence, exhaustion, inflamed joints, breaks and sprains spinal and joint injuries, spasms, shaking, depression, anxiety and insomnia.
Currently there is no cure.
Jess uses a walker but to give her more freedom and the ability to take her 2 young children 8 and 5 to school each day she needs an electric mobility scooter.
My goal is to raise £2000 for Jess and her family by riding 1,000 miles in 24 hours from my home in Dorset to Land’s End and then all the way up to John O Groats in Scotland.
Please help me to help Jess.
Thank you so much.

3 years agoSunday 22nd August. Meet my other teammates who are joining me on this 1,000-mile adventure. Martin is in the middle and Robin is on the right. We also have a support van who will be joining us and this will be driven by Tom. We rode for 5 hours on the bikes and to spot any niggles that needed to be ironed out. One issue we all decided we needed to fix was to get a 3rd intercom unit so we could all communicate, especially needed at busy junctions or roundabouts and it's easy to miss where the rider in front has gone.

3 years agoPlanning has now started and we've decided that our party of 3 will all meet at Land's End at Sunrise on the 24th of September. We have a support van that will be meeting us at certain check points. The training for the event is also happening. I'm already training for a 187 mile cycle ride the weekend before this event and time in the saddle of the cycle will really help train my body for this motorbike event. We also need to carry camel packs on us so we can hydrate as we ride and to also make sure we have nutritious snacks to keep us going
