    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised

Oliver Dean Callis (Moo Bears) was born on the 6th of January 2013. I recall at the time I thought something was wrong as he looked different but i put that down to the fact he had just been born and dismissed it.

Next day I got a very distressed call from his mum who was struggling to talk, I thought he had passed but eventually she was able to tell me he had been diagnosed with Downs Syndrome.

On arrival it was clear Moo Beers was very ill, he was Blue in colour and struggling to breath, an off duty heart consultant was paged to come in. Following tests he was diagnosed with four holes in his heart and immediately taken to a ward where I say the angels live., Here he received 24/7 care and was put on a combination of Oxygen and medication to help his heart. He was so weak that after a sip of his bottle he would fall asleep due to exhaustion, we were really worried and there were lots of tears.

I recall we were also advised he had sight problems and failed hearing so potentially deaf. After a week of being treated we was allowed to take him home but I had to learn CPR. You don't sleep to well after that I can assure you.

As time progressed and we got a better understating of Oliver's condition he has cognitive problems accompanied with Nystagmus and squints affecting his sight, hypotonia (poor muscle tone) however he can hear perfectly. The holes in his heart healed by themselves which to this very day see as a miracle.

Today Moo Bears has regular checks for his hearing, sight, thyroid, receives physio to help him to walk. He has delayed learning but is now getting vocal and forming words, he signs using Makaton and attends a nursery.

He's without doubt the most amazing person I've ever met. Despite his daily struggles he is full of joy and love to all he engages. He does not judge he has no pretence just love in his heart, I think that's very admirable qualities in any human being.

He is the love of my life. Thank you for reading x
