Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
I am really excited to have been selected as one of 36 youth participants from the West and South West region of Scotland to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree.
The Jamboree is being jointly hosted by the Boy Scouts of America, Scouts of Canada and the Scout Association of Mexico and will take place from 22nd July to 2nd August 2019 at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA.
I will be hosting fundraising events over the next 18 months to raise £3900 to cover the cost of attending the Jamboree this also helps Scouts from less fortunate countries experience this once in a lifetime event too.
I have been a member of the 28th Ayrshire Scout Unit in Troon since I was 5 when I joined Beavers and have progressed through Cubs, Scouts and am now a Patrol Leader in the Explorer unit. I have benefited hugely from my involvement in Scouting and am thrilled to have been given this opportunity. I also help at the Scouts on a weekly basis and at other whole group events throughout the year.
