Story
On July 15th, 2018 Mr Baker, Mr Markham and Mr Jamieson will be on the start line for one of the toughest single day endurance events in the world! The notoriously challenging Ironman UK triathlon which is held every year in tropical Bolton. The race consists of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and finishes with a full marathon (26.2 miles). All of which must be completed under 17 hours without a break!!
This once in a lifetime journey truly encapsulates the ethos and values that we as a community have built. Hopefully it will inspire our children and show them that with resilience, tenacity and an iron will to succeed, anything is possible.
As a school, we are appreciative and are humbled by the work that our fantastic FROGS carry out to support our children. At the moment, these heroes are furiously trying to raise money for our very own mini-bus. A resource as valuable as this will have a huge impact on our ability to attend sporting events as well as developing and enhancing our adventurous learning ethos away from our school grounds. We also are supremely grateful for the amazing work that the members of the Cornwall Air Ambulance carry out and feel that this is another cause that we would like to see prosper from our endeavours.
As the year progresses there will be lots of opportunities to track the training of the athletes via Strava. You can even join the Team Gulval club and put yourself on the weekly leaderboard https://www.strava.com/clubs/TeamGulval
