Story

For the third year running (and final time - maybe!) we will be taking part in the greatest half marathon, the Great North Run in September 2019. So far we've supported the little people, the sporty people so this year we'd like to support the older generation.

As a grant giving charity, the Barchester Charitable Foundation distributes over £150,000 per year to individuals and small community groups/charities across England, Scotland and Wales. By providing grants to improve independence, mobility and quality of life, the Foundation seeks to make a big difference to the lives of older and disabled people.

This year the focus for the charity is about connecting or re-connecting people with others in their local community. Whether its a music project for people with dementia, or an older people's art project or helping someone get out of the house and become part of the community.
